Monthly Donation Calendar

Interested in making an in-kind donation or hosting a drive at your business, organization, or school? Below are our suggested areas of focus throughout the year, which ensures a balanced supply of our client’s most essential items. For questions, please contact Rachel at rleibowitz@citizensinn.org or 978-531-9775.

January

Exit Basket supplies – help our families exiting shelter to permanent housing by providing household essentials, found here on our Amazon wish list.

February

Diapers – Many low-income families cannot afford enough diapers for their children, leaving their babies and toddlers in the same diaper for a full day. Many of our elderly clients at Haven from Hunger rely on adult diapers due to health issues. Diapers are not covered by SNAP benefits.

March

Bedding and Towels – Families entering our shelters receive new bedding, which includes twin sheets, blankets, and pillows, as well as new towels. This is an important symbol of the respect and dignity with which we treat all of our clients.

April

Cleaning supplies – Help equip our clients with cleaning spray, wipes, scrubbers, dish soap, sanitizer, and other essentials for their spring cleaning.

May

Toiletries – Clients at Haven from Hunger and in our shelters are always in need of shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant, lotion, feminine products, and other personal care items.

June

Sunblock & Bug Spray – These expensive summer essentials are always needed by our clients, allowing them to work or play outside without worrying about their skin.

October

Sock-tober – Is there anything better than new socks? For our clients, new socks can mean warmth, dignity, and foot health. Socks in all sizes (baby to adult) are appreciated.

November

Holiday Food – Donate suggested items to help make a clients’ holiday meal a bit brighter. List here!

December
